L-a-b Colorspace
In the LAB color space, the A and B channels are used to represent color components on two different axes, where each axis spans from negative to positive values. Here's how the + and - values correspond to colors in each channel:
L Channel (Lightness):
0: Represents pure black. This is the darkest possible value, indicating no lightness.
100: Represents pure white. This is the lightest possible value, indicating full lightness.
A Channel (Red-Green):
Negative values (-): These correspond to the color green. The more negative the value, the more intense the green coloration.
Positive values (+): These correspond to the color red. The more positive the value, the more intense the red coloration.
B Channel (Blue-Yellow):
Negative values (-): These correspond to the color blue. The more negative the value, the stronger the blue hue.
Positive values (+): These correspond to the color yellow. The more positive the value, the more vivid the yellow.
